Ingredients

  • 1 - 8 Ounces (oz) package wide egg noodles, packaged
  • 2 - Tablespoons (tbsp) butter
  • 2 - Tablespoons (tbsp) all-purpose flour
  • 1 - Pinch salt, to taste
  • 1 - Cup milk
  • 1 - Cup sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 - 5 Ounces (oz) can tuna, drained
  • 1 - 15 Ounces (oz) can peas, drained

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Coat a 2-quart casserole dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a large pot of salted water, boil noodles until al dente. Drain well.
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine flour, butter, and salt. Stir until butter is melted and ingredients are combined evenly.
  4. Add milk to the saucepan and whisk until the sauce thickens, usually by the time it begins to boil.
  5. Add cheese to the mixture and whisk until cheese is melted and the mixture is well blended.
  6. Stir in tuna, peas, and noodles. Spread evenly in the prepared dish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
