Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) vegetable oil
  • 2 Whole green bell peppers, sliced
  • 2 Whole red bell peppers, sliced
  • 1.5 Pounds (lb) round steak, sliced
  • 1 Medium onion, grated
  • 1 Cup crushed tomatoes
  • 0.5 Cup water
  • 3.5 Teaspoons (tsp) white sugar
  • 1 Pinch salt, to taste
  • 1 Pinch pepper, to taste

Steps

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the green and red bell peppers and cook, stirring occasionally, until tender, about 10 minutes. Remove the peppers from the pan and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the steak strips and grated onion. Cook and stir for about 10 minutes until the steak is evenly browned and no longer pink inside.
  3. Return the cooked peppers to the skillet. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, water, and white sugar. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
