  • 1.5 Cups white sugar
  • 2 Teaspoons (tsp) vanilla extract
  • 3 Large eggs

  • 0.5 Cups walnuts, chopped
  • 0.75 Teaspoon (tsp) cinnamon, ground
  • 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) cloves, ground
  • 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) nutmeg, ground

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the sugar, melted butter, and vanilla.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time to the sugar mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until smooth.
  6. Divide the batter evenly into two bowls.
  7. In one bowl, stir in the chocolate chips and cocoa powder.
  8. In the second bowl, mix in the pumpkin puree, walnuts, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
  9. Spread half of the chocolate batter into the prepared baking pan, followed by half of the pumpkin batter. Repeat the layers.
  10. Use a knife or small spatula to swirl the batters together for a marbled effect.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  12. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before cutting them into 16 squares.
