  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) vegetable oil
  • 1 Pound (lb) lean ground beef
  • 1 Medium onion, minced
  • 0.25 Cups green bell pepper, minced
  • 1 Cup tomatoes, minced
  • 6 Ounces (oz) tomato paste
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) white sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) dried oregano
  • 0.5 Pinch salt, to taste
  • 0.25 Teaspoon (tsp) garlic powder
  • 2 Ounces (oz) mozzarella cheese, shredded

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 10-inch pie plate or springform pan.

  3. Mix the eggs, Parmesan cheese, and butter into the spaghetti until well combined. Press and shape the mixture into the prepared pie plate to form a crust. Spread the cottage cheese over the crust.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir the beef, onion, and green pepper until thoroughly browned, about 5 to 7 minutes. Mix in the tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano, 0.5 pinch of salt, and garlic powder until combined. Spread this mixture over the cottage cheese layer.
  5. Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and continue baking until the cheese is bubbly and beginning to brown, about 5 to 10 minutes more.
