Ingredients

  • 2.5 Tablespoons (tbsp) olive oil
  • 0.25 Cups butter, melted
  • 1.5 Whole lemons, juiced
  • 3 Tablespoons (tbsp) Dijon mustard
  • 0.5 Cups fresh basil leaves, minced
  • 3 Whole garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 Pinch salt, to taste
  • 1 Pinch white pepper, to taste
  • 3 Pounds (lb) fresh shrimp, peeled

Steps

  1. In a shallow, non-porous dish or bowl, mix together the olive oil and melted butter. Stir in the lemon juice, Dijon mustard, minced basil, and minced garlic. Season with salt and white pepper to taste.
  2. Add the shrimp to the marinade, tossing to coat evenly. Cover the dish and refrigerate for 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. Preheat your grill to high heat. Remove the shrimp from the marinade and thread them onto skewers. Discard the remaining marinade.
  4. Lightly oil the grill grate to prevent sticking. Arrange the skewers on the preheated grill and cook for about 4 minutes, turning once, until the shrimp are opaque and cooked through.
