Ingredients

  • 12 Whole fresh mushrooms
  • 0.5 Pounds (lb) beef, ground
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) onion, minced
  • 1 Clove garlic, minced
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) butter
  • 0.25 Cups bread crumbs
  • 1 Pinch salt, to taste
  • 1 Pinch pepper, to taste
  • 0.25 Cups heavy cream
  • 0.25 Cups butter, melted
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) chili powder

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  2. Remove and chop the mushroom stems.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ground beef, onion, and garlic. Cook until the beef is no longer pink, then drain.
  4. Mix in the chopped mushroom stems, 1 tablespoon of butter, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring frequently, for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the heavy cream.
  5. Dip the mushroom caps in 0.25 cups of melted butter and stuff generously with the meat mixture.
  6. Arrange the stuffed mushrooms in a baking dish and sprinkle with chili powder.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes until the mushrooms are tender and the tops are golden brown.
