  • 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) chili paste
  • 0.25 Cup fresh lime juice
  • 0.25 Teaspoon (tsp) fresh ground pepper
  • 0.25 Teaspoon (tsp) cumin
  • 0.25 Cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 Clove garlic, minced
  • 0.25 Cup red onion, minced
  • 1 Ripe tomato, minced
  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) fresh cilantro, minced
  • 1 Pound salmon fillets, sliced
  • 1 Avocado, sliced

Steps

  1. In a large glass or plastic bowl, dissolve the sugar and chili paste in the fresh lime juice. Season with fresh ground pepper and cumin.
  2. Stir in the extra virgin olive oil, minced garlic, minced red onion, minced tomato, and minced fresh cilantro.
  3. Gently mix in the sliced salmon fillets, ensuring they are well-coated with the marinade. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 4 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the salmon to "cook" in the lime juice.
  4. Before serving, drain the excess liquid from the salmon mixture.
