- 0.5 Cups butter, melted
- 0.5 Cups onion, minced
- 2 Cups celery, diced
- 3 Cups chicken broth
- 4 Quarts bread cubes
- 3 Large eggs, whisked
- 1 Tablespoon salt
- 1 Teaspoon black pepper, ground
- 0.25 Teaspoon sage, ground
- 1 Pinch dried thyme, to taste
- 1 Pinch dried marjoram, to taste

- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced onion and sauté until soft but not browned.
