Serving Size: 36

Cooking Time: 120 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 Tablespoons (tbsp) butter, melted
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) olive oil
  • 4 Whole sweet onions, sliced
  • 1 Pinch salt, to taste
  • 1 Pinch pepper, to taste
  • 17.5 Ounces (oz) package frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 Whole firm pears, peeled and sliced
  • 0.75 Cups crumbled blue cheese

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and cook, stirring frequently, until they are caramelized to a deep golden brown, about 30 to 40 minutes. Season with a pinch of salt and a pinch of pepper, then set aside to cool.
  3. Cut each sheet of puff pastry into 9 squares using a sharp knife. Cut each square in half diagonally to create 36 triangles. Arrange the triangles on the prepared baking sheets.
  4. Top each triangle with a portion of the caramelized onions, a slice of pear, and 1 teaspoon of crumbled blue cheese.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven until the pastry is puffed and golden brown, about 20 to 30 minutes.
  6. Allow the pastries to cool to room temperature before serving.
