Ingredients

  • 0.25 Cups capers, drained
  • 8 Ounces (oz) smoked salmon
  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) fresh dill, minced
  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) extra-virgin olive oil
  • 0.5 Teaspoons (tsp) lemon zest, zested
  • 0.25 Cups red onion, minced

Steps

  1. Pulse the capers in a food processor fitted with a steel blade until coarsely chopped.
  2. Add the smoked salmon, dill, olive oil, and lemon zest to the processor. Pulse until the salmon is finely chopped and well-mixed.
  3. Stir in the finely diced red onion.
  4. Serve the spread with kettle-style potato chips, sesame crackers, or toasts. For a special touch, top each tartare-covered toast or chip with a thin slice of lemon, rind and all.
