Ingredients

  • 1 Pillsbury refrigerated pie crust, packaged
  • 3 Ounces (oz) Hershey's unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • 1 Cup Land O Lakes butter, softened
  • 1 Cup sugar
  • 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) vanilla
  • 4 Whole pasteurized eggs
  • 0.5 Cup sweetened whipped cream
  • 0.5 Tablespoon (tbsp) chocolate curls, grated

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F. Prepare the pie crust as directed on the box for a One-Crust Baked Shell using a 9-inch glass pie pan. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until light golden brown. Allow to cool completely, about 30 minutes.
  2. In a 1-quart saucepan, melt the chocolate over low heat and let it cool. In a small bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the butter on medium speed until fluffy. Gradually beat in the sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add the cooled chocolate and vanilla, and beat until well blended.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating on high speed for 2 minutes after each addition, until the mixture is smooth and fluffy. Pour the mixture into the cooled baked shell.
  4. Refrigerate the pie for at least 2 hours before serving. Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate curls. Store in the refrigerator.
