Serving Size: 8

Cooking Time: 65 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 - 9 inch unbaked pie crust
  • 1 - Cup white sugar
  • 0.5 - Cup butter, melted
  • 2 - Large eggs, whisked
  • 0.25 - Cup all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 3 - Tablespoons (tbsp) unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
  • 1 - Teaspoon (tsp) vanilla extract

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Line the pie crust with parchment paper or aluminum foil and fill with pie weights or dried beans.
  3. Bake the crust in the preheated oven until the edges start to brown and appear set, about 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and carefully lift the parchment paper (with the weights) out of the crust. Prick holes all over the bottom crust with a fork. Continue baking until the bottom of the crust is golden brown, 14 to 15 minutes more.
  4. Reduce the oven temperature to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  5. In a medium bowl, beat together the sugar, melted butter, whisked eggs, sifted flour, sifted cocoa powder, and vanilla until well combined. Pour the mixture into the baked crust.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven until the filling is set, 25 to 30 minutes.
  7. Allow the pie to cool to room temperature before serving.
