Ingredients

  • 0.25 Cups white sugar
  • 0.75 Cups heavy whipping cream
  • 0.25 Cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 Cups almonds, minced
  • 8 Ounces candied orange peel, minced
  • 8 Ounces semisweet chocolate, melted

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, blend the white sugar and heavy whipping cream until well combined.
  3. Stir in the all-purpose flour, minced almonds, and minced candied orange peel.
  4. Drop the mixture by teaspoonfuls onto a heavily greased and floured cookie sheet. Use a spatula to spread each drop into thin circles.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven until the edges are light brown, about 10 to 12 minutes. Allow the cookies to cool for a few minutes before removing them from the cookie sheet.
  6. Melt the semisweet chocolate over low heat or in the microwave on medium for about 3 minutes.
  7. Turn the cooled cookies upside down and spread the bottoms with the melted chocolate.
  8. Let the cookies stand at room temperature until the chocolate is firm, at least 3 hours.
  9. Store the cookies in a covered container at room temperature or refrigerate.
