Ingredients

  • 3 Cups (cups) all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 Cups (cups) white sugar
  • 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) salt
  • 1 Cup (cup) butter, melted
  • 1.5 Cups (cups) light corn syrup
  • 1.5 Cups (cups) white sugar
  • 4 Large eggs
  • 3 Tablespoons (tbsp) butter, melted
  • 1.5 Teaspoons (tsp) vanilla extract
  • 2.5 Cups (cups) pecans, chopped

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 10x15-inch jellyroll pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, 0.5 cup sugar, and salt. Cut in the melted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the prepared pan and press firmly to form a crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  4. While the crust is baking, mix corn syrup, 1.5 cups sugar, eggs, 3 tablespoons melted butter, and vanilla in a large bowl until smooth. Stir in the chopped pecans.
  5. Spread the filling evenly over the hot crust as soon as it comes out of the oven.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven until the filling is set, about 25 minutes.
  7. Allow to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before slicing into bars.
