  • 1 Pinch cooking spray, to taste
  • 3 Cups rolled oats
  • 0.67 Cups wheat germ
  • 0.5 Cups slivered almonds
  • 1 Pinch nutmeg, ground
  • 1.5 Teaspoons (tsp) cinnamon, ground
  • 0.5 Cups apple juice
  • 0.5 Cups molasses
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) vanilla extract
  • 1 Cup dried mixed fruit
  • 1 Cup dried apricots, quartered

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Prepare two cookie sheets by spraying them with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, wheat germ, slivered almonds, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of nutmeg.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the apple juice, molasses, and vanilla extract. Pour this wet mixture over the dry ingredients, stirring well to ensure everything is evenly coated.
  4. Spread the granola mixture onto the prepared baking sheets.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, stirring the mixture every 10 to 15 minutes to ensure even baking, until the granola turns a golden brown color.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
  7. Once cooled, stir in the dried mixed fruit and quartered dried apricots.
