- 2 - Cups white sugar
- 1.5 - Cups all-purpose flour
- 0.33 - Cups cocoa powder
- 1 - Teaspoon (tsp) black onyx cocoa powder (optional)
- 1.5 - Teaspoons (tsp) salt
- 1 - Teaspoon (tsp) baking powder
- 1 - Cup vegetable oil
- 4 - Whole eggs
- 2 - Tablespoons (tbsp) light corn syrup
- 1 - Teaspoon (tsp) vanilla extract
- 1.75 - Cups morello cherries, drained and minced
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 13x9-inch baking pan.
- Cheesecake Filling: In a bowl, beat together the cream cheese, sugar, flour, egg, and vanilla extract with an electric mixer until creamy.
- Brownie Batter: In a large bowl, combine the sugar, flour, cocoa powder, black onyx cocoa powder (if using), salt, and baking powder. In a separate bowl, beat together the oil, eggs, corn syrup, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
- Spread 3/4 of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan. Mix 1/4 cup of the chopped morello cherries into the batter in the pan.
- Spread the remaining cherries across the top of the brownie batter in one layer. Pour the cream cheese filling over the cherries. Spread the remaining brownie batter on top of the cream cheese filling. Use a knife to create swirls in the batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 27 minutes, or until the top is dry and the edges have started to pull away from the sides of the pan. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean.
