- 0.25 Cups white sugar
- 5 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 Large egg
- 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 Cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1 Cup shredded coconut
- 0.5 Cups walnuts, ground
- 0.25 Cups butter, melted
- 2 Cups confectioners' sugar
- 2 Tablespoons vanilla custard powder
- 3 Tablespoons milk
- 4 Ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 Tablespoon butter, melted
Steps
- In a heavy saucepan or double boiler, mix 0.5 cups of butter, white sugar, cocoa powder, egg, and vanilla extract. Stir over low heat until the mixture reaches a custard-like consistency.
- Combine graham cracker crumbs, shredded coconut, and ground walnuts. Add this mixture to the melted chocolate mixture and mix well. Pack into a buttered 9-inch square cake pan.
- In a separate bowl, cream together 0.25 cups of butter, confectioners' sugar, vanilla custard powder, and milk. Beat until creamy and spread over the chocolate base.
- Refrigerate until the custard layer is hardened.
- Melt the semisweet chocolate with 1 tablespoon of butter. Drizzle over the custard icing. Refrigerate until completely hard.
- Once set, cut into square bars and serve.
