  • 6 Egg yolks
  • 0.5 Pints sour cream
  • 3 Tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 Tablespoon whiskey
  • 3 Cups all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1 Cup vegetable oil
  • 0.33 Cups confectioners' sugar

Steps

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep-fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, beat together the egg yolks, sour cream, white sugar, vanilla extract, and whiskey until smooth.
  3. Stir in the all-purpose flour until the dough is stiff enough to knead.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead until smooth. Add additional flour if necessary.
  5. Divide the dough into 3 or 4 pieces. Roll each piece on a floured surface.
  6. Cut the rolled dough into strips about 3 inches long. Make a slit lengthwise down the middle of each strip and pull one end through the slit to form a bow shape.
  7. Place the shaped dough into the hot oil and deep fry until golden brown.
  8. Let the fried cookies drain on paper towels.
  9. Sprinkle the cookies with confectioners' sugar before serving.
