  • 8 Whole fresh peaches, peeled
  • 1 Cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 Teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 Teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 Tablespoon orange juice
  • 1 Cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 Cup milk
  • 0.5 Cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 Teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 Teaspoon salt

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 0.5 cup of sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and orange juice. Mix well and set aside to marinate.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, remaining 0.5 cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the milk to the dry ingredients, stirring until smooth.
  5. Pour the melted butter into a 9x13-inch baking dish, ensuring the bottom is evenly coated.
  6. Pour the batter over the melted butter, but do not stir.
  7. Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter. Again, do not stir.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the batter has risen around the peaches.
  9. Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving.
  10. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
