- 8 Ounces (oz) macaroni
- 1.5 Cups (cups) milk
- 1.5 Teaspoons (tsp) mustard, ground
- 1 Teaspoon (tsp) Worcestershire sauce
- 0.75 Teaspoon (tsp) salt
- 1 Pinch hot pepper sauce, to taste
- 1.5 Tablespoons (tbsp) butter
- 3.5 Cups (cups) Cheddar cheese, shredded
- 0.5 Cup bread crumbs
- 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) butter, melted
- 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) paprika
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 2-quart casserole dish.
- Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the macaroni and cook for 8 to 10 minutes until al dente. Drain the macaroni.
- In a small saucepan, heat the milk. Stir in the ground mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and hot pepper sauce. Set aside.
- Stir 1.5 tablespoons of butter and 3 cups of shredded Cheddar cheese into the drained macaroni. Pour the hot milk mixture over the cheese and macaroni. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle the remaining 0.5 cup of Cheddar cheese on top. Combine the bread crumbs with the melted butter and spread over the top. Sprinkle with paprika.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Then, place under the broiler for 1 to 2 minutes to achieve a golden crust.
