  • 1 Cup wild rice
  • 1.5 Cups low-sodium chicken stock
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) butter

Steps

  1. Place the wild rice into the inner pot of a multi-functional electric pressure cooker (such as an Instant Pot®). Add the chicken stock and butter to the pot.
  2. Close and lock the pressure cooker lid, ensuring the pressure/steam release switch is set to sealing. Set the cooking time to 30 minutes at high/normal pressure. It will take about 9 minutes for the pot to reach pressure before the cooking time begins. After the pressure cooking time ends, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes before releasing the remaining pressure using the manufacturer’s quick release method.
  3. Open the lid and gently fluff the rice with a fork.

Cook's Note: You can replace the chicken stock with water or vegetable stock if you prefer.
