Ingredients

  • 12 Ounces (oz) package refrigerated biscuit dough, packaged
  • 8 Ounces (oz) package corn bread mix, packaged
  • 29 Ounces (oz) cans chicken broth
  • 1 Cup onion, minced
  • 1 Cup celery, sliced
  • 0.5 Cup butter, softened
  • 0.125 Pound (lb) pork sausage
  • 2 Large eggs, chopped
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) dried sage
  • 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) salt
  • 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) pepper, ground

Steps

  1. Prepare an 8x8-inch pan of cornbread according to the package directions. Bake enough biscuits to make a total of 4 cups crumbled, following the package instructions. Allow both to cool, then crumble and measure out 4 cups each. Set aside.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  3. In a small pot, combine chicken broth, minced onion, sliced celery, and softened butter. Bring to a boil and cook until the vegetables are tender.
  4. In a 2-quart casserole dish, mix together 4 cups crumbled cornbread, 4 cups crumbled biscuits, pork sausage, chopped eggs, sage, salt, and pepper. Pour the broth-vegetable mixture over the sausage mixture and stir until well combined.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 45 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the dressing is heated through.
