Ingredients

  • 0.33 Cup olive oil
  • 0.25 Cup sesame oil
  • 0.25 Cup fresh parsley, minced
  • 2 Tablespoons hot sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons garlic, minced
  • 1 Tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 Tablespoon Asian chile paste
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • 1 Teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 Tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 Pounds large shrimp, peeled
  • 12 Wooden skewers, soaked

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, sesame oil, minced parsley, hot sauce, minced garlic, ketchup, Asian chile paste, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Reserve about 1/3 of this marinade for grilling.
  2. Place the shrimp in a large resealable plastic bag. Pour in the remaining marinade, seal the bag, and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  3. Preheat an outdoor grill to high heat. Thread the shrimp onto skewers, piercing each shrimp near the tail and head. Discard the used marinade.
  4. Lightly oil the grill grate. Grill the shrimp for 2 minutes on each side until they turn opaque, basting frequently with the reserved marinade. Serve immediately.
