- 4 Pork chops
- 1 Pinch garlic salt
- 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) vegetable oil
- 1 Onion, minced
- 2 Stalks celery, sliced
- 12 Ounces (oz) tomato paste
- 15 Ounces (oz) can tomato sauce
- 3 Cups water
Steps
- Season the pork chops with garlic salt to taste.
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and brown them in the oil for about 4 to 6 minutes on each side. Remove the chops from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté the minced onion and sliced celery until they become translucent.
- Add the tomato paste to the skillet and stir until the mixture is bubbling.
- Pour in the tomato sauce and continue to stir until it bubbles.
- Add water to thin the sauce to your desired consistency.
- Return the pork chops to the skillet, reduce the heat to very low, and let them simmer until the meat is very tender and the sauce thickens, about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Add more water as needed to maintain the sauce consistency.
