Serving Size: 8
Cooking Time: 80 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 Pounds (lb) ground beef
- 0.75 Cups fresh bread crumbs
- 0.5 Cups onion, minced
- 2 Large eggs, whisked
- 1.5 Teaspoons (tsp) kosher salt
- 1.5 Teaspoons (tsp) ground black pepper
- 3 Cups Cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) Dijon mustard
- 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) ketchup
- 0.5 Teaspoons (tsp) garlic powder
- 0.5 Teaspoons (tsp) smoked paprika
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, minced onion, whisked eggs, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, ketchup, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- On a large piece of wax paper, pat out the meat mixture into a 14x18-inch rectangle.
- Evenly spread the shredded Cheddar cheese over the meat, leaving a 3/4 inch border along the edges to prevent cheese from oozing out during baking.
- Carefully roll the meat mixture jelly-roll style to enclose the cheese, forming a pinwheel loaf. Press the ends of the loaf to seal in the cheese.
- Place the meatloaf seam-side down in a 10x15-inch baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center of the meatloaf reads at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).
- Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This helps retain its juices and makes slicing easier.
