Ingredients

  • 1 Cup margarine
  • 1 Cup white sugar
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) vanilla extract
  • 2 Cups all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) baking soda
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) ground cloves
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) ground cinnamon
  • 3 Medium ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 Cups rolled oats
  • 1 Cup semisweet chocolate chips

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together the margarine and sugar until smooth. Stir in the eggs and vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, ground cloves, and ground cinnamon.
  4. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until well combined.
  5. Add the mashed bananas, rolled oats, and semisweet chocolate chips to the mixture, and mix until well blended.
  6. Drop the dough by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are golden.
  8. Remove from the oven and transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool.
