- 0.5 Cup white sugar
- 1 Teaspoon (tsp) vanilla extract
- 3 Whole eggs
- 2 Cups all-purpose flour
- 1 Teaspoon (tsp) baking soda
- 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) salt
- 1.5 Cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 8 Ounces (oz) packages cream cheese
- 0.25 Cup white sugar
- 2 Whole eggs
- 1 Cup pecans, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the shortening, brown sugar, and 0.5 cup white sugar. Beat in the 3 eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; blend into the sugar mixture. Stir in the chocolate chips, and set aside.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the cream cheese and 0.25 cup white sugar. Mix in the 2 remaining eggs.
- Spread half of the chocolate chip dough in the bottom of the prepared pan. Pour the cream cheese batter on top of the dough. Sprinkle with pecans. Drop pieces of the remaining chocolate chip batter over the filling. Don't worry if there are gaps; the batter will spread.
