Ingredients
- 1 Large head cabbage
- 1 Pound (lb) lean ground beef
- 1 Whole egg, whisked
- 1 Medium onion, minced
- 0.75 Cups cooked white rice
- 1 Pinch salt, to taste
- 1 Pinch pepper, to taste
- 10.75 Ounces (oz) can condensed tomato soup
- 5.375 Ounces (oz) water
Steps
- Place the cabbage head in the freezer and freeze overnight. Remove from the freezer, thaw, and peel away the leaves.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef, whisked egg, minced onion, cooked rice, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Take a small handful of the beef mixture and form it into a small roll or ball. Place it in the center of a cabbage leaf. Fold the sides of the leaf over and roll the ball up into the leaf. Place seam side down in a baking dish. Repeat until all the filling is used.
- Mix the condensed tomato soup with 5.375 ounces (half a can) of water and pour over the stuffed cabbage rolls.
- Bake uncovered at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 hour, basting often with the sauce.
