Ingredients

  • 1 - 2 Pounds (lb) flat iron steak
  • 2.5 - Tablespoons (tbsp) olive oil
  • 2 - Cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 - Teaspoon (tsp) fresh parsley, minced
  • 0.25 - Teaspoon (tsp) fresh rosemary, minced
  • 0.5 - Teaspoon (tsp) fresh chives, minced
  • 0.25 - Cup Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 0.5 - Teaspoon (tsp) salt
  • 0.75 - Teaspoon (tsp) black pepper, ground
  • 0.25 - Teaspoon (tsp) dry mustard powder

Steps

  1. Place the flat iron steak inside a large resealable bag.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, minced garlic, parsley, rosemary, chives, red wine, salt, pepper, and mustard powder.
  3. Pour the marinade over the steak in the bag. Press out as much air as possible and seal the bag. Marinate in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours.
  4. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Remove the steak from the marinade and place it in the hot skillet. Discard any remaining marinade.
  6. Sear and cook the steak for 3 to 4 minutes on each side for medium rare, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. An instant-read thermometer should read 130 degrees F (54 degrees C) for medium rare.
  7. Allow the steak to rest for about 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
