Ingredients

  • 2 Teaspoons (tsp) paprika, ground
  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) garlic, minced
  • 2 Teaspoons (tsp) Italian seasoning
  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) lemon juice
  • 0.25 Cups olive oil
  • 0.5 Teaspoons (tsp) black pepper, ground
  • 2 Teaspoons (tsp) basil leaves, dried
  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) brown sugar, packed
  • 2 Pounds (lb) shrimp, peeled

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the paprika, garlic, Italian seasoning, lemon juice, olive oil, black pepper, basil, and brown sugar until thoroughly blended.
  2. Add the shrimp to the bowl and toss to coat them evenly with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, turning once for maximum flavor absorption.
  3. Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grill grate.
  4. Remove the shrimp from the marinade, allowing any excess to drain, and discard the marinade.
  5. Place the shrimp on the preheated grill, about 4 inches from the heat source, and cook for 5 to 6 minutes, turning once, until they are opaque in the center. Serve immediately for a delightful seafood experience.
