- 12 Ounces (oz) mushrooms, sliced
- 0.25 Cup (c) fresh parsley, minced
- 12 Cups (c) dry bread cubes
- 1.5 Teaspoons (tsp) salt
- 1.5 Teaspoons (tsp) dried sage
- 1 Teaspoon (tsp) poultry seasoning
- 1 Teaspoon (tsp) dried thyme
- 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) dried marjoram
- 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) black pepper, ground
- 4.5 Cups (c) chicken broth
- 2 Large eggs, whisked
Steps
- Gather all ingredients.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir onion, celery, mushrooms, and parsley in butter until slightly softened, about 5 to 8 minutes.
- Place bread cubes in a very large mixing bowl. Spoon cooked vegetables over bread cubes. Season with salt, sage, poultry seasoning, thyme, marjoram, and pepper.
- Pour in enough broth to moisten, then mix in whisked eggs.
- Transfer the mixture to a slow cooker.
