Ingredients

  • 0.5 Cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) garlic powder
  • 1 Pinch salt, to taste
  • 1 Pinch pepper, to taste
  • 1.5 Pounds (lb) beef flank steak
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) cooking oil
  • 13.75 Ounces (oz) chicken broth, packaged
  • 2 Teaspoons (tsp) lemon juice
  • 2 Whole garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 Whole cloves

Steps

  1. In a shallow dish, mix together the flour and garlic powder. Season with salt and pepper. Dip the flank steak into the flour mixture, ensuring both sides are evenly coated. Discard any remaining flour mixture.
  2. Heat the cooking oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Place the steak into the skillet and cook until browned, about 5 minutes per side.
  3. Stir in the chicken broth, lemon juice, minced garlic, and whole cloves. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer until the steak is tender, approximately 1.5 hours.
  4. To serve, remove the steak from the skillet and slice it across the grain into thin strips. Arrange the slices on serving plates and ladle the sauce over the top. Enjoy!
