Ingredients

  • 1 Large potato, peeled and shredded
  • 1 Cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1 Cup fresh mushrooms, minced
  • 2 Pounds ground beef, ground
  • 2 1 Ounce (oz) packages onion soup mix, packaged

Steps

  1. Preheat the grill for high heat.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the shredded potato, Swiss cheese, and minced mushrooms.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with the packaged onion soup mix. Form the mixture into 6 large burger patties.
  4. Create a pocket in each burger patty, stuff with the potato mixture, and seal the edges to enclose the filling.
  5. When ready to grill, brush the grill grate with oil to prevent sticking.
  6. Cook the burgers over high heat for 5 minutes on each side, or until they are well done.
  7. Serve the hot burgers on buns with your choice of condiments.
