Ingredients
- 0.25 Pounds (lb) pork, ground
- 1 Cups watercress, torn
- 4 Ounces (oz) water chestnuts, drained
- 0.25 Cups green onions, sliced
- 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) oyster sauce
- 1.5 Tablespoons (tbsp) sesame oil
- 1 Teaspoon (tsp) garlic, minced
- 1 Teaspoon (tsp) soy sauce
- 0.125 Teaspoon (tsp) white pepper, ground
- 0.125 Teaspoon (tsp) salt
- 1 16 Ounces (oz) package dumpling skins, packaged
- 1 Pound (lb) shrimp, peeled
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, torn watercress, drained water chestnuts, sliced green onions, oyster sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, soy sauce, ground white pepper, and salt. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Place about 0.5 teaspoons of the pork mixture onto the center of each dumpling skin. Top with one shrimp. Lightly wet the edges of the dumpling skin with water, fold over, and pinch the edges together to seal, ensuring no filling escapes.
- For pan-fried dumplings: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of oil. Place the dumplings in the skillet and cook for about 15 minutes, turning halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- For steamed dumplings: Arrange the dumplings in a bamboo steamer lined with parchment paper. Steam over boiling water for about 10 minutes until the dumplings are cooked through.
- Serve the dumplings hot, optionally in a bowl of chicken broth for added flavor. Enjoy your savory creation!
