- 1 Box yellow cake mix
- 1 Cup butter, melted
- 4 Large eggs
- 1 15 Ounces (oz) can pumpkin puree, pureed
- 1 12 Fluid Ounces (fl oz) can evaporated milk
- 1 Cup sugar
- 1 Teaspoon (tsp) cinnamon, ground
- 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) ginger, ground
- 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) cloves, ground
- 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) salt
- 1 Cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the yellow cake mix and melted butter. Reserve 1 cup of this mixture for the topping.
- Press the remaining mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form the crust.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, pumpkin puree, evaporated milk, sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt until smooth.
- Pour the pumpkin mixture over the crust in the baking dish.
- Sprinkle the reserved cake mix mixture over the top of the pumpkin layer. If using, add chopped walnuts on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.
