Ingredients

  • 6 Whole garlic cloves, roasted
  • 1.5 Tablespoons (tbsp) olive oil, divided
  • 2 Whole ripe pears, halved and cored
  • 1 Pinch all-purpose flour, for dusting
  • 1 Whole unbaked pizza crust
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) cornmeal, for dusting
  • 6 Ounces (oz) Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 5 Thin slices prosciutto, divided
  • 6 Ounces (oz) fresh mozzarella, cubed
  • 1 Pinch salt, to taste
  • 1 Pinch black pepper, ground to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the garlic cloves on a small square of aluminum foil, drizzle with 0.5 tablespoon of olive oil, and wrap the foil to seal. Roast in the oven for about 20 minutes until the garlic is soft. Once done, smash the roasted garlic cloves with a fork.
  2. In a bowl, toss the pear halves with 1 tablespoon of olive oil to coat them evenly. Arrange the pears on a baking sheet and bake in the oven until they are soft, about 10 to 15 minutes.
  3. Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C). Preheat a pizza stone or a baking sheet in the oven to ensure a crispy crust.
  4. Lightly dust a flat surface with all-purpose flour. Roll out the pizza crust dough on this surface. Dust a separate baking sheet with cornmeal and transfer the rolled-out dough onto it.
  5. Spread the mashed roasted garlic evenly over the pizza dough. Sprinkle the shredded Swiss cheese over the garlic layer.
  6. Arrange the roasted pear slices, prosciutto halves, and mozzarella cubes evenly over the cheese. Season the pizza with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  7. Brush the edges of the pizza crust with the remaining 0.5 tablespoon of olive oil to ensure a golden finish.
  8. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crust is golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, slice, and serve. Enjoy the perfect blend of sweet and savory flavors in every bite!
