Ingredients

  • 1 Sack giblets from one turkey, minced
  • 0.5 Cups (cup) butter, melted
  • 1 Cup (cup) celery, diced
  • 0.5 Cup (cup) onion, minced
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) poultry seasoning
  • 1 Pinch salt, to taste
  • 1 Pinch pepper, to taste
  • 8 Cups (cup) dry bread cubes
  • 1 Cup (cup) chicken broth

Steps

  1. Mince the giblets into small pieces.
  2. Melt the butter in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add the giblets and cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Add the celery and onion to the skillet; cook and stir until tender, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place the bread cubes into a large bowl. Stir in the giblet mixture and enough broth to lightly moisten the bread.
  5. For stuffing: Stuff an 18-pound turkey with the giblet stuffing and bake as directed in your turkey recipe.
  6. For dressing: Bake the giblet stuffing, covered, in a greased 2-quart casserole dish in an oven preheated to 375°F (190°C) for 40 to 45 minutes.
