- 1 Cup cold water
- 0.5 Cup uncooked long grain white rice
- 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) vegetable oil
- 1 Pound (lb) ground beef
- 6 Medium green bell peppers, divided
- 16 Ounces (oz) tomato sauce, divided
- 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) Worcestershire sauce
- 0.25 Teaspoon (tsp) garlic powder
- 0.25 Teaspoon (tsp) onion powder
- 1 Pinch salt, to taste
- 1 Pinch ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 Teaspoon (tsp) Italian seasoning
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- In a medium saucepan, bring 1 cup of cold water to a boil. Stir in the rice, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until evenly browned. Drain excess fat.
- Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes. Arrange the peppers in a baking dish with the hollowed sides facing upward.
- In a bowl, mix the cooked rice, browned beef, 1 cup of tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Spoon an equal amount of the mixture into each hollowed pepper. Pour the remaining tomato sauce over the stuffed peppers.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes.
