  • 1 Ounce (oz) packet taco seasoning mix, divided
  • 16 Ounces (oz) can refried beans
  • 0.67 Cups water
  • 12 Prepared crisp taco shells
  • 2 Whole avocados, mashed
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) sour cream
  • 1 Whole fresh lime, juiced
  • 1 Pinch salt, to taste
  • 1 Pinch black pepper, to taste
  • 12 7 Inch flour tortillas
  • 2 Cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 Cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 Large tomato, minced
  • 0.25 Red onion, minced
  • 0.5 Cups sour cream

Steps

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with 3/4 of the taco seasoning packet. Stir and break up the meat until browned and crumbly, about 10 to 15 minutes. Drain excess grease.
  2. In a small saucepan, mash the refried beans with water and the remaining taco seasoning. Heat over low until simmering.
  3. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C). Place the crisp taco shells on a baking sheet and warm them in the oven for 3 to 5 minutes.
