Ingredients

  • 16 Ounces (oz) package penne pasta, packaged
  • 0.25 Cups vegetable oil
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) lemon juice
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) dried basil
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) black pepper, ground
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) garlic salt
  • 2 Whole tomatoes, minced
  • 1 Whole green bell pepper, minced
  • 1 Whole sweet onion, minced
  • 1 Whole cucumber, minced
  • 1 Cup black olives, minced

Steps

  1. Cook the penne pasta in a large pot of boiling water until al dente. Drain and rinse in cold water to cool.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the vegetable oil, lemon juice, dried basil, ground black pepper, and garlic salt to create the dressing.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, minced tomatoes, green bell pepper, sweet onion, cucumber, and black olives.
  4. Pour the dressing over the pasta and vegetables, and toss to coat evenly.
  5. Chill the salad in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
