Ingredients

  • 2 Cups semisweet chocolate chips, melted
  • 1 2/3 Cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoons baking soda
  • 0.25 Teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 Cup butter, softened
  • 0.5 Cup white sugar
  • 0.5 Teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.25 Cup corn syrup
  • 1 Whole egg

Steps

  1. Melt the semisweet chocolate chips over low heat and let them cool.
  2. In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Using an electric mixer set to medium-low speed, beat the softened butter and white sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add the vanilla extract, corn syrup, and egg to the butter mixture and continue beating until well combined.
  5. Reduce the mixer speed to low and beat in the melted chocolate.
  6. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, continuing to beat until well combined.
  7. Refrigerate the dough until firm, about 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  9. Shape the dough into approximately 1-inch balls and roll them in additional sugar.
  10. Place the balls on ungreased baking sheets about 1 inch apart.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven until the edges are lightly browned, about 10 to 15 minutes.
  12. Let the cookies stand on the baking sheets for 1 minute before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
