Ingredients

  • 1 Cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 Cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 0.25 Cup granulated sugar
  • 1 Cup pecans, minced
  • 0.75 Cup light corn syrup
  • 0.5 Cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) vanilla extract
  • 0.25 Teaspoon (tsp) salt

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined to form the crust.
  3. Press the crust mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan. Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden.
  4. While the crust is baking, prepare the filling. In a large bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  5. Stir in the minced pecans until evenly distributed.
  6. Pour the pecan mixture over the pre-baked crust, spreading it evenly.
  7. Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly firm to the touch.
  8. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
