  • 0.5 Pints (pt) sour cream
  • 3 Tablespoons (tbsp) white sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) vanilla extract
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) whiskey

  • 1 Cup vegetable oil for frying
  • 0.33 Cups confectioners' sugar, sifted

Steps

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep-fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, beat together the egg yolks, sour cream, white sugar, vanilla extract, and whiskey until smooth.
  3. Stir in the all-purpose flour until the dough is stiff enough to knead.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead until smooth. Add additional flour if necessary.
  5. Divide the dough into 3 or 4 pieces. Roll each piece on a floured surface.
  6. Cut the rolled dough into strips about 3 inches long. Make a slit lengthwise down the middle of each strip and pull one end through the slit to form a bow shape.
