Ingredients

  • 0.5 Pounds (lb) bacon
  • 2 Small onions, minced
  • 2 Stalks celery, minced
  • 15.25 Ounces (oz) can whole kernel corn
  • 14.75 Ounces (oz) can cream-style corn
  • 4 Cups chicken broth
  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) margarine
  • 2 Cups milk
  • 6 Small potatoes, cubed
  • 2 Carrots, minced
  • 2 Tablespoons (tbsp) all-purpose flour
  • 1 Pinch salt, to taste
  • 1 Pinch ground black pepper, to taste

Steps

  1. Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat, turning occasionally, until almost done. Add the minced onions and minced celery; sauté until the vegetables are lightly browned. Transfer the mixture to a large soup pot.
  2. Stir in the whole kernel corn, cream-style corn, chicken broth, and margarine. Add the cubed potatoes and minced carrots. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 15 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, mix together the all-purpose flour and a little water in a small bowl to form a paste.
