Ingredients

  • 1 Pound (lb) lean ground beef, ground
  • 1 Medium head cabbage, sliced
  • 1 15 Ounces (oz) can carrots, drained
  • 1 15.25 Ounces (oz) can whole kernel corn
  • 1 15 Ounces (oz) can green beans, drained
  • 1 15 Ounces (oz) can peas, drained
  • 1 15 Ounces (oz) can sliced potatoes, drained
  • 1 15 Ounces (oz) can mixed vegetables, drained
  • 1 10 Ounces (oz) can asparagus, drained
  • 1 46 Fluid Ounces (fl oz) can tomato juice
  • 0.5 Teaspoon (tsp) garlic powder
  • 1 Teaspoon (tsp) onion powder
  • 1 Pinch salt, to taste
  • 1 Pinch pepper, to taste

Steps

  1. Place the ground beef in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly browned. Drain the fat, crumble the beef, and set aside.
  2. In a large soup pot, combine the cooked beef with all the canned vegetables, including their liquids.
  3. Add the sliced cabbage, tomato juice, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cook the mixture over medium heat until the cabbage is tender, approximately 30-40 minutes.
  5. Serve hot and enjoy your hearty Camp Soup!
