Ingredients

  • 0.25 Cups butter, melted
  • 1 Large onion, minced
  • 6 Whole potatoes, peeled
  • 2 Whole carrots, diced
  • 3 Cups water
  • 2 Tablespoons chicken bouillon powder
  • 1 Pinch ground black pepper, to taste
  • 3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 Cups milk
  • 1 Tablespoon dried parsley
  • 0.25 Teaspoons dried thyme

Steps

  1. Gather all the ingredients.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced onion and cook until it becomes soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. In another pot, combine the peeled potatoes, diced carrots, water, and chicken bouillon. Bring to a boil and cook until the vegetables are tender, about 10 minutes. Season with ground black pepper to taste.
  4. Add the flour to the cooked onions to create a paste. Cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes. Gradually add the milk, stirring well. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until warmed through.
  5. Add the potato and carrot mixture to the milk and onion mixture. Stir in the dried parsley and thyme, and heat through. Serve hot.
