Ingredients

  • 2 - 28 Ounces (oz) diced tomatoes, packaged
  • 2 - 28 Ounces (oz) crushed tomatoes, packaged
  • 4 - 6.5 Ounces (oz) minced clams, packaged
  • 2 - Tablespoons (tbsp) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 - Tablespoon (tbsp) dried oregano
  • 1 - Tablespoon (tbsp) dried basil
  • 0.5 - Teaspoons (tsp) onion powder
  • 3 - Drops hot pepper sauce
  • 8 - Whole potatoes, cubed
  • 7 - Whole carrots, sliced
  • 1 - Whole red bell pepper, minced
  • 1 - Whole green bell pepper, minced
  • 1 - Stalk celery, minced
  • 1 - Pinch salt, to taste
  • 1 - Pinch ground black pepper, to taste

Steps

  1. In a large stockpot over medium heat, combine the diced tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, and minced clams with their juices.
  2. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, dried oregano, dried basil, onion powder, and hot pepper sauce. Simmer the mixture for 30 minutes.
  3. Add the cubed potatoes, sliced carrots, minced red and green bell peppers, and minced celery to the pot.
  4. Continue to simmer the chowder, stirring occasionally, for 2 to 3 hours until the vegetables are tender.
  5. Season with salt and ground black pepper to taste before serving.
