Ingredients

  • 12 Ounces (oz) package extra firm tofu, drained
  • 3 Tablespoons (tbsp) vegetable oil
  • 1 Whole onion, sliced
  • 1.5 Cups barbecue sauce
  • 6 Whole hamburger buns

Steps

  1. Drain the tofu between paper towels until most of the water has been squeezed out.
  2. Slice the tofu into 1/4 inch thick slices.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the tofu slices until golden brown on both sides.
  4. Add the sliced onion to the skillet and cook for a few minutes until the onion reaches your desired consistency.
  5. Pour in the barbecue sauce, adjusting the amount to your taste. Cook the mixture on low heat for ten minutes.
