Ingredients

  • 1 18.25 Ounces (oz) package cherry chip cake mix, packaged
  • 1 21 Ounces (oz) can cherry pie filling
  • 2 Teaspoons (tsp) almond extract
  • 2 Whole eggs
  • 1 Cup confectioners' sugar
  • 0.25 Teaspoon (tsp) almond extract

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and lightly flour a bundt or tube pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, cherry pie filling, 2 teaspoons of almond extract, and eggs. Mix thoroughly by hand until well moistened. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a rack for 15 minutes, then invert the cooled cake onto a serving plate. Allow it to cool completely.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the confectioners' sugar and 0.25 teaspoon of almond extract. Add drops of water until the glaze reaches a drizzling consistency. Spoon the glaze over the cooled cake.
