Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Whole all-beef hot dog
  • 1 Whole poppy seed hot dog bun
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) yellow mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) sweet green pickle relish
  • 1 Tablespoon (tbsp) onion, minced
  • 2 Whole tomato wedges, sliced
  • 1 Whole dill pickle spear, sliced
  • 2 Whole sport peppers
  • 1 Pinch celery salt, to taste

Steps

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low, place the hot dog in the water, and cook until warmed through, about 5 minutes. Remove the hot dog from the water and set aside.
  2. Place a steamer basket into the pot and steam the poppy seed bun until warm, about 2 minutes.
  3. Place the hot dog in the steamed bun. Pile on the toppings in this order: mustard, relish, minced onion, tomato slices, sliced pickle, sport peppers, and celery salt. The tomato slices should be nestled between the hot dog and the top of the bun on one side. Place the sliced pickle between the hot dog and the bottom of the bun on the other side. Enjoy your Chicago-style hot dog without ketchup!
